"Kevin Frieson writes and performs in the jazz idiom but with just a little different outlook. Quite refreshing."
- Micah Solomon President, Oasis CD Duplication

"Kevin Frieson must be a little confused. That's certainly an
indication from the release Ebony Tears. Correction. Frieson isn't confused just
versatile. Ebony Tears may be the most diverse yet without a miss in
the 11 tunes. There is almost no old style improvisational sound here, which
suited this listener just fine. Everything made sense and never went off the
deep end. It is coherent, clearly the result of organization and quality
producing. It takes you to different places and you regret none of the
visits. "
