Ebony Tears...

Largely self-taught on electric bass, there were formal studies on acoustic bass with Richard Schooley, Ph.D. at Fairmont State College.

"I started to really study music much later than most at age 27. I had devoted most of my early twenty's to marriage, fatherhood, and coal-mining. In '87 I began to check music out seriously. Gospel, Fusion, Latin... all of it, and have dedicated my life to it.'

From '89 to '98 Kevin was musical director for the Kennedy Federal Correctional Center.

"I must say i learned more about people and music than I can explain during those 10 years."

In 1998 Kevin self produced, wrote, arranged and played on his debut cd, Ebony Tears. He had the pleasure of being chosen as a 1999 recipient of The Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation fellowship for compostion.
